Optimus OLED Keyboard

oled_keyboard.jpgOkay, I have a hard time believing this is legit—even in prototype form—but the concept is fantastic nonetheless. The ‘Optimus’ keyboard has tiny OLED screens embedded in each key, allowing it to display context information on the fly. In Photoshop? You’ve got Photoshop icons, complete with alt functions (at least in my head this is how it works).

OLED screens are massively expensive, though, especially full-color ones, so I’d say this is just someone having a good idea—a great idea, actually. When this becomes affordable, we’ll see this happen. Start your patent attorneys now.

Update: T3 confirms it’s a prototype.
